HENNIKER COMMUNITY CONCERTS
CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES WITH A BONUS AT SUMMER’S END
Tonight, August 18, the series continues with one of last year’s favorite bands ---Tattoo, a 5- piece group of acoustic guitar, trombone, sax/flute, stand-up bass, keyboard/accordion, drums and vocals. The band plays American roots music, including tunes by seminal performers like: Ray Charles, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, the Beatles, Van Morrison, Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly and the Supremes. Their sets have a heavy mix of jazz, Motown, New Orleans Mardi Gras and Cajun music as well as some originals. All their music has a strong connection to American musical traditions. They choose songs from this vast reservoir and play them in their own inimitable, irresistible acoustic-jam-band-style, while you dance, or just sit back and listen.
On August 25, everyone’s favorite party and dance group, Nick’s Other Band (NOB), returns. NOB, sponsored by Henniker Family Dentistry, has traditionally ended our summer series with their great selection of rocking Top 40 hits from yesterday and today. Although we will still be social distancing, this is the night to put on your dancing shoes and prepare to party hardy as they cover classic rock ‘n roll tunes with tight harmonies and an irresistible, bluesy style. NOB brings crowds to their feet with easily recognizable hits by the Doobie Brothers, Van Morrison, the Doors, Beatles, Stones, Delbert McClinton, ZZ Top and more. Be prepared for an evening of fun and sing along with your favorite tunes! Nick’s Other Band has a way of making the audience part of the performance.
The Henniker Summer Music Series, planned by the volunteer Community Concert Committee and sponsored by the town of Henniker looked and felt very different this summer, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But with everyone abiding by the guidelines which followed CDC and State policies to ensure the safety of attendees, we have had a great series of concerts. We are grateful to Pats Peak, Henniker Septic Services, Henniker Parks Department and Cyclesmith for partnering with us to make Community Park and the Angela Robinson Bandstand a safe space for everyone.
Most of all, we want to thank you, our attendees for following all the rules and protocols with good spirit. We think you all deserve a special Bonus and offer the following:
THE NO MORE RAIN FEST DOUBLE BILL
Tuesday, September 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, we will present a bonus concert featuring High Range and Trunk o’ Funk, two of our originally scheduled groups who were rained out this summer. In between their sets, we encourage you to shop local – visiting our local restaurants or packing a picnic supper to have in the park.
At tonight’s concert, you will have a chance to provide feedback on the Summer Series. Be sure to fill out the evaluation form handed out at the concert or go online to www.hennikerconcerts@henniker.org and fill out an online survey of the shows you attended. Your feedback is instrumental in deciding the musical talent for next year.
The August shows begin at 6:30 PM and take place at the Angela Robinson Bandstand at Community Park, Main Street. The No More Rain Fest on September 1 begins at 5:30 PM.
As with all our shows this summer, we ask you to mask-up upon entering and leaving the park, visiting with friends or using the bathroom or porto potty. Once settled in one of your marked off space in the park there is no need to wear your mask. The park will be fenced in and once we have reached capacity, no one else will be admitted. Bring a chair, spread a blanket, visit a local restaurant or have a picnic supper on the lawn and join your neighbors and friends in this community-building event at our bandstand. The schedule is available on the Town of Henniker website. Should it rain, the concert will be cancelled and hopefully rescheduled as part of the No More Rain Fest.

GUIDELINES FOR 2020 HENNIKER SUMMER CONCERT ATTENDEES
Welcome to the 2020 Henniker Summer Concert Series. Due to COVID-19, things look and feel different this year, but our overall goals are for everyone to have a great time and remain safe.
The park will be fenced in on concert nights with two clearly marked entrances/exits. Concert committee members will be at the entrances to assist you in finding a spot to set up your blankets or chairs. Blankets should be closer to the stage, chairs behind so no one has an obstructed view.
We will be practicing Social Distancing inside the park and have marked off squares. Once those areas are full, no one else will be able to enter the park. Families and small groups who arrive together may occupy one or more of these squares.
Dancing is allowed but dancers should observe the 6 foot distancing recommendations.
Please do not approach the bands either before or after the concert this year.
BRING YOUR MASKS
We recommend you wear face coverings upon entering/exiting the park or if you choose to visit with a neighbor in the park. Once you are seated in your space, it is not necessary to wear your mask. Children need to remain with parents this summer. There will be no opportunity to play in the Flynn’s yard.
You are encouraged to bring your picnic supper or to purchase take out from one of the Henniker businesses. As always it is carry in, carry out.
SAFETY FIRST
If you have recently traveled or used public transportation and have any symptoms of illness, such as fever, cough, chills, shortness of breath, or if someone in your family or with whom you have visited recently has these symptoms --- please stay home.
The Community Center bathroom and the porto potty are available. Each is equipped with hand sanitizer, soap and paper towels for your use.
If we all follow these guidelines, we will have a great summer series. If, however, we notice there are unsafe practices occurring, the committee reserves the right to cancel subsequent concerts.
Let’s all do our part to insure we have a safe, music filled summer in Henniker on Tuesday evenings.

Henniker, NH - The Davis-Woodman-Durgin Post 78 Henniker American Legion would like to thank the Henniker Beautification Committee for graciously restoring the Memorial plaques naming Rush Road and Hall Avenue for Henniker veterans PVT George W. Hall and PFC Duglas B. Rush both who made the supreme sacrifice in a Prisoner of War Camp in the Philippines during World War II. The plaques were originally installed in May of 1947 and were restored by Morgan Murdough and Bill Lustig of Morgan's Signs and Sign-a-rama. They were restored to their original quality and Post 78 is very thankful and proud to be an active part of the Henniker Community working together.
