Town Offices Closed


All Town Offices will be closed on Monday, January 1st in observance of New Year's Day.


Garbage Pick-Up

There will be no garbage pick-up on Monday, January 1st. Instead, pick up will occur on Tuesday, January 2nd.

Happy New Year! I hope 2024 is filled with much success, happiness, and prosperity for all. Leaf & Branch Pick-Up


Public Works is ringing in the New Year with one last round of Town-wide leaf & branch pick-up beginning Tuesday, January 2nd, weather dependent. Real Christmas trees, void of all ornaments, may also be placed in the branch pile. Leaf and/or branch piles need to be placed at the curb by Tuesday, January 2nd as Public Works will work on covering the entire town until complete. This will be the FINAL pick-up until the regular schedule resumes in April.

Service Requests


A new year, brings new ideas! The St. John Public Works Department is excited to announce an easy way to report non-emergency service requests to the Town. Types of requests may include park damage, restroom attention, road maintenance, street light outages and more. Please complete the Service Request form which will then be forwarded to the appropriate department for a response and/or follow-up. For emergencies and anyone who needs police or fire assistance, no matter how minor, please call 911.

Pet Tag Renewals


Pet Tag Renewals are due by March 31st. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Renewals may be made in person at the Clerk-Treasurer's office, by mail or drop box at Town Hall, or online at Peg Tag Renewals. If you have a new dog or cat, please come in person within the first 30 days of ownership for Registration.

Wiggley Field

Dog Park


Annual permits are available for Wiggley Field Dog Park. The fee is $25 for St. John residents and $10 per additional dog. Payment can be made in person at the Clerk-Treasurer's office or by mail or drop box at Town Hall. Renewals can also be made online at Dog Park Renewal.

Business License Renewals


Attention St. John Business Owners! Business License Renewals were due by December 31st. The fee is now $100. Renewals can be completed in person or online at Business License Renewals. On February 1st, the renewals will be fined an additional $25 for each month late. Please contact Building & Planning at 219-365-5301 with any questions. If you are a NEW business, you must come in person to the Building & Planning Department to register and cannot use this link to pay online.

Patnoe Park Family Gardens


Let's grow together at Patnoe Park! Sign up to reserve a 4"x8" raised garden bed at Patnoe Park located at 10499 White Oak Ave. The gardening season will begin in April and end in October. Registration fees are $40 for St. John residents. March 1st begins non-resident registration for a fee of $50. Complete the Gardening Agreement & once approved, you may pay in person or drop box at the Clerk-Treasurer's office. Space is limited.

Market News!!


We have some fun changes coming this 2024 season! You'll find some new additions including local regional farmers, kids' activities & entertainment, awesome live music and some new food truck options as well. You'll find more hand made artisan crafters, makers and bakers too! Hold tight for additional exciting announcements coming your way this spring on location and details.


We are currently seeking local farmers to join us at no charge. If you know of anyone, please have them reach out to the Town at 219.365.6236.

Cartooning Workshops


Learn cartooning during this workshop with Liubakka Studio. No experience is necessary and you can register for all dates or only individual dates. Register in person at the Clerk-Treasurer's office or online at Park Activity Fees.

Lions Club Bunco


Join the St. John Lions Club for Bunco on Saturday, February 3rd at the St. John VFW located at 10400 W 93rd Ave. Doors will open at 5 PM and Bunco starts at 6 PM. There will be Bunco, Food, Cash Bar, 50/50, Door Prizes, and Raffle Baskets. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance. You can visit St. John Lions Club or text Lion Nancy at 219-644-7217 for tickets.

NO PARKING


Please do not park vehicles on the street when there is snow, sleet, or freezing rain. This will allow our Public Works crew to clear the snow and treat the area. The Police Department may issue a citation or have the vehicle removed.

SNOW PLOWING


Please make sure your mailboxes are secure for this winter's snow plowing. In addition, please clear snow in front of your mailbox for your U.S. Postal Carrier. They advise to provide 30 feet of clearance for carriers.

Town Dumpster


The Town has a dumpster available for St. John residents only. It is available the second Saturday of each month from 9 AM - 1 PM. Please go to the Public Safety building and present a state of Indiana ID for access. The following items cannot be accepted: batteries, cleaning solvents, combustible liquids, freon canisters, motor oil, paint, railroad ties, roofing shingles, tires, construction debris (asphalt, bricks, concrete, dirt, drywall, sand, yard waste) appliances, and hazardous materials.
