APRIL TOWN TIDBITS

Please note that you are receiving the Town Tidbits in advance of your utility bill. Your utility bill will follow at a later date in a separate email.

RECYCLING CHANGES START APRIL 1

Starting April 1, 2025, Alberta’s new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulation shifts recycling costs from taxpayers to producers. This means the Town of Wainwright will no longer be responsible for curbside recycling—Circular Materials will oversee the program on behalf of the province.

When utility bills come out in May you will notice that you are no longer being charged for blue bag recycling. As of April 1, the provincial EPR program covers this cost.

Wainwright’s local recycling contact is Empringham Disposal, which can be reached at 403-392-3870 or rio@empringhamdisposal.com
