WAINWRIGHT TO HOST RURAL COMMUNITY HEALTH PROVIDER ATTRACTION AND RETENTION CONFERENCE IN 2024

RhPAP (Rural Health Professions Action Plan) is excited to announce that the Town of Wainwright will host the biannual Rural Community Health Provider Attraction and Retention (A&R) Conference in the fall of 2024!

The conference is an opportunity for rural community A&R committees, as well as interested community members from across Alberta, to come together and share experiences, learn about new initiatives related to the attraction and retention of health-care providers to rural communities, and network with other rural community members.

The Conference will take place October 8 to 10, 2024, with more information available on registration available in the spring.

BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWALS

Business license renewals have been mailed out. The deadline to pay your renewal is January 31, 2024.

You may pay by mail, credit card on the Town website or app or in person at the Town Office. Failure to renew may result in fines and penalties and/or cancellation of your business license.

FEEDBACK REQUEST

Municipal Affairs is gathering feedback from the public in regards to potential legislative changes related to councillor accountability in the Municipal Government Act and changes to the Local Authorities Election Act.

As the snow removal season approaches, please be aware that curb ramps need to be removed in order to facilitate more effective street cleaning! Thank you.

HOLIDAY RECYCLING

2023 PROPERTY INSPECTIONS

This notice is to inform Town of Wainwright ratepayers that re-inspection of properties for assessment purposes will commence the week of May 1st, 2023. Properties east of 14th Street, north of 8th Avenue and south of 14th Avenue will be re-inspected. In addition, any other properties requiring review throughout the Town of Wainwright will also be re-inspected.

Inspections will be done by Wainwright Assessment Group Ltd. and will be completed around the end of December 2023. Assessors will be on site and show I.D. when occupants are present and leave notes in doors and proceed with an exterior inspection when no one is at the property.
