The Township of Lake of Bays Council is reviewing the draft 2020 Municipal Budget and may adopt the budget at the upcoming Council meeting on Tuesday December 17. As previously reported, four Directors of the the Lake of Bays Association met with Mayor Glover, and Councillors Lacroix and Tapley to express concern. Subsequently the Association submitted this letter to the Township and the Township responded .

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting on Tuesday starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Township office. You can find the full agenda here .
Electricity Pricing

As previously reported, Hydro One has been instructed by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to eliminate the Seasonal Rate Class. The would result in large Hydro cost increases for many LOBA members. The Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations (FOCA) has been lobbying against this change and their efforts may be paying off. FOCA has engaged a lawyer to make a final submission to the OEB and requested LOBA's support. You can read our letter of support here , and more about the work FOCA has done on this matter here .

We thank FOCA for all the hard work!
