POLICE DEPARTMENT

Chief Christopher Fletcher, the Maple Shade Police Chaplains, and other police department personnel attended the Annual Police Chaplains Conference on June 13, 2023.

Chief Fletcher gave an outstanding presentation on “Chaplains: Bridges in the Community”, at this very well attended conference, along with Gary Holden from The Police Chaplain Program and Resilient Minds on the Front Lines.

We would like to congratulate the recipients of two prestigious awards.

Officers were honored and recognized by the 200 Club as well as PROCOPS for their heroic actions, rescuing a suicidal woman who was determined to jump from her seventh-floor apartment balcony, and was only unsuccessful due to the quick thinking officers who responded to the call for service.

We would like to congratulate Cpl. Misty Weiss, Sgt. William Turner, Det. Cpl. Jeffrey Engel, Ptl. David Thomas, Ptl. Anthony Marshall, and Ptl. David Priebs on a job well done.

On June 26, 2023, Cpl. Misty Weiss and Ptl. Karenann Wortmann set out to join forces with Dog Walkers across Maple Shade with the "Walk and Watch Program".

This program joins the police department, the community, and our four-legged friends to form a great partnership to improve the safety and security in our community.

Those who attended were armed with information on how to assist law enforcement in fighting and reporting crime in the areas they are already walking their dogs in.

If you would like to join the program, please email Officer Misty at [email protected].
