Canadian retailer Toys, Toys, Toys (aka Toys Cubed) has filed for bankruptcy protection and will liquidate immediately. Danbury Global Ltd. and A.D. Hennick & Associates Inc. are conducting liquidation sales at the five remaining Toys, Toys, Toys locations in the Greater Toronto area. Read more…

Award-winning educational resource company, hand2mind, recently teamed up with Kipp Academy in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood to help curb the ‘COVID slide’ for more than 100 students. Crazy Aaron’s Steps Up to Sponsor The Toy Foundation’s Toy Bank

The Pennsylvania-based company behind the popular line of Thinking Putty will donate $10,000 to the cause and will release a special-edition putty crafted in The Toy Bank’s signature orange color. A portion of the sales from each tin of putty will benefit The Toy Foundation, which has provided more than $225 million in toys to more than 26 million kids in need since its founding in 2003. Hasbro, Universal Reveal Transformers x Back to the Future Collaboration

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Back to the Future (BTTF) franchise, Hasbro introduced a time-traveling Transformers Autobot character named Gigawatt. The 5.5-inch “robot in disguise” transforms into the iconic DeLorean Time Machine in 17 steps. A four-issue comic book miniseries from IDW will debut this fall to explore how Transformers fit into the BTTF lore. Read more…

Toronto-based Spin Master Corp. is expanding its Hollywood ambitions. The company hired Heather Oster to serve as its vice president, global franchise development. Oster, who will be based in Spin Master’s Los Angeles office, will report to Spin Master Entertainment’s executive vice president Jennifer Dodge. Oster previously led consumer products and franchise management programs for both animated and live-action franchises at the Walt Disney Co., Pixar, Universal, and DreamWorks across brands including Disney•Pixar Cars, Jurassic World, Disney Princess, Toy Story, The Muppets, and Trolls. Gaumont Animation Chief Upped to President at Gaumont U.S.

Following the recent addition of former Amazon Studios development executive Michelle Sullivan to lead the expansion of its kids and family slate, Gaumont U.S. has a new face at the helm.
