Carlisle Technology COVID-19 Update:

Carlisle Technology is proud to be able to support food processors across Canada and the United States. This is a very difficult time on multiple fronts, but we are thankful for the sacrifice processors are making to keep food on all our tables.

Our approach to this situations has centered around 3 key goals:
  1. Keeping our employees healthy
  2. Do our part to stop the spread of the Coronavirus
  3. Keep Carlisle operating in order to support our customers

The health and safety of our employees is always Carlisle Technology's first priority. In an effort to keep everyone safe we have moved to a "work from home" model for all employees who are able to do so. Some employees' responsibilities require them to be at the facility. Any employees who aren't able to work from home are separated by more than six feet at all times. Carlisle Technology has also increased all cleaning measures in the facility.

Demands on the food industry have drastically increased during the Coronavirus pandemic. This increased demand has made it important that Carlisle Technology continue to support our customers. Our 24/7 Software Support Team is still operating at full capacity. Customer's should not experience any longer than normal support wait times when trying to access support.

All Carlisle Technology's manufacturing and in-house hardware repairs and support services are operating as normal. However, Carlisle Technology has restricted all business travel and onsite services with the exception of emergency support.

Once again, thank you to all the food processors who are making big sacrifices to keep the food supply chain running!

Article Two: Traceability for Food Safety

Food traceability is vital to the health and safety of consumers. Tracking the movement of food as it passes through the raw stage up until it reaches its final form is necessary to communicate effectively with everyone who has a stake in the process, from partners and buyers all the way to consumers.

A significant part of food traceability as it relates to public health is product recalls. In the event that a product makes it to consumers and then must be recalled, traceability allows for a completely transparent look into the origin of the problem so that it can be resolved and prevented from happening again.
Symphony MES Highlight:
Production Scheduling with Serialized PLU Printing
Symphony MES Production Scheduling with Serialized PLU Printing
Having complete control over the production floor is essential when it comes to high volume-meat and poultry processing. Symphony MES gives management the ability to schedule production orders and control which production lines fill which orders. As production orders are filled, order progress and line efficiency can be monitored with Symphony MES dashboards.

Automation quickly provides ROI in a high-volume production environment. Symphony MES simplifies difficult tasks like accurately identifying, weighing, and labeling mixed inbound product. Serialized PLU printing with Symphony MES allows extremely accurate inbound product identification. Symphony MES’ Serialized PLU printing combined with iCap M5’s outbound case label verification ensures the correct case label is applied to each box every time.

This product description explains the functionality of Symphony MES’ Production Scheduling with Serialized PLU Printing solution. This solution combines multiple hardware and software components that have been designed to streamline the complex process of high-speed mixed product weighing and labeling.

The Importance of Weighing in Food Manufacturing
Weighing is an essential part of the food production process. Weighing applications can be found across every processing plant. These weighing applications can be found as early in the production process as the weighing of incoming products on the receiving dock to the weighing and labelling of finished good’s boxes going into inventory. Weighing ingredients for quality compliance is extremely important. This is because ingredients must be weighed to fulfill product recipe specifications and quality requirements. Measuring ingredients with extreme accuracy ensures they are distributed equally, and the product tastes the same in every batch

Food scales help processors adhere to production requirements and reduce the risk of creating out-of-spec product. Out-of-spec product can jeopardize the health of consumers and subject processors to fees for non-compliance with foodservice regulations. To avoid out-of-spec product, processors must invest in accurate, high-quality food scales....
