Tracking Transboundary and Emerging Diseases
Transboundary and emerging diseases are constant threats to the livestock industry. Even as biosafety measures have evolved, there is always the lingering threat of highly contagious or newly discovered diseases impacting animal health.

Through a newly funded project, researchers from Cornell University’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center, AHDC, and the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, TVMDL, aim to mitigate risks certain diseases pose to the cattle industry by developing technology to detect diseases before outbreaks occur or become widespread.

Plan Ahead! Expect Shipping Delays!
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions affecting the production of tags, as well as slower shipping times with all carriers, there may be a delay in fulfilling and shipping your tag order. Please plan to add an additional 10 to 15 days to produce and ship your order – which means orders could take up to 25 days from the date ordered for delivery with standard shipping. (Under normal circumstances, it takes about 10 to 15 days to receive your order.)

We encourage you to plan ahead and allow for the additional shipping times. Please reach out to the WLIC Team if you have any questions or concerns.

Proper Vaccination Boosts Consumer Confidence
With ever-increasing competition for the consumer protein dollar, beef producers look for ways to inspire consumer confidence in beef products. Although it may not be top of mind, management strategies like proper vaccine administration can come into play.
