September Campaign Update!

* Supporting the Community Addiction Awareness Vigil with the NC Parents Support Group.

Hello Darren,

What a warm and busy summer.  I hope you are all looking forward to my favorite season!  Fall!!

First, I know many of you are struggling with the shocking electric bills! I am too. Republicans, including me and many others, are urgently calling for a special legislative session to tackle not only the sudden significant increase in rates, but also the perpetually high electric rates in Connecticut.

Our Relief Plan

We continue to propose ideas to lessen the impact on ratepayers and the state's overall economy, including:

  • Reallocating the remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover moratorium shut-off fees
  • Examining budgetary options that could make available as much as $1 billion for electric relief
  • Removing the Public Benefit Tax from the Utility Bill which would cut close to a third of the bill (28%)

Attention, College Students!

Your voice matters! Make sure your vote is counted—remember, you can only vote in one state at one polling place. I hope you’ll choose your home state of CT, especially if you're from Norwalk or Darien.

I’d love to connect with you about the upcoming elections and answer any questions you might have. If you're away at college, don’t forget to register for an absentee ballot. You can have it mailed to your campus and return it by mail or drop it off at town hall when you're back home.

Best,

Tracy Marra
