Trades vs. College

Traditional 2-year or 4-year College may not be for everyone. According to the Education Writers Association, the number of high school graduates attending a trade school has increased 4.9% post-pandemic, while the number of students enrolling in university has declined. There are many benefits to attending a trade school over a college. Trade schools are free to students, whereas college students accrue debt. During the apprenticeship program, apprentices will earn income, but typical college students do not. Through a trade program, students have access to health care and pensions and will have more hands-on learning.
