Secretary Kerry Launches Clean Energy Initiative for Central America and The Caribbean
WASHINGTON, District of Columbia - Today, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced the opening of a clean energy facility to catalyze new public and private sector investment in Central America and the Caribbean.  The U.S. Trade and Development Agency will partner with the Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation to facilitate investment in clean energy development in the regions' emerging markets.

 
USTDA Launches Best-Value Procurement Training in Ethiopia 
ADDIS ABABA, EthiopiaToday, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency kicked off the first phase of its Procurement Assistance Program in Ethiopia under the Agency's Global Procurement Initiative: Understanding Best Value (GPI).

  October 31 - November 7, 2015: Romania: Cyber Security Technologies Reverse Trade Mission
The U.S. Trade & Development Agency is hosting a delegation of Romanian government officials and private sector representatives to connect them with the latest U.S. practices, services and equipment in the cyber security industry.  The visit will familiarize the delegation with technologies and best practices for the identification, assessment and management of cyber risks that might affect government activities and critical infrastructure in Romania.

November 5, 2015: Romania: Cyber Security Technologies Business Briefing
As part of the Romania Cyber Security Technologies Reverse Trade Mission, there will be a Business Briefing for the delegates to update attending U.S. companies on Romania's potential needs and procurements in the cyber security sector.  One-on-one meetings will be arranged for U.S. companies with attending delegates.

November 3-5, 2015: U.S.-India Aviation Summit, Bangalore, India
In collaboration with the U.S.-India Aviation Cooperation Program and the Government of India, USTDA is hosting the  5th U.S.-India Aviation Summit . This event will convene senior representatives from the public and private sectors in both countries to identify opportunities to advance the robust aviation partnership between India and the United States. 

November 1 - 14, 2015: China Smart Grid Technologies Reverse Trade Mission
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will sponsor a Reverse Trade Mission to bring 15 public sector delegates representing China's smart grid sector (National Energy Administration, provincial and municipal grid operators and utilities including China Southern Grid and China State Grid) to the United States to familiarize them with the latest U.S. technologies and best practices in smart grid. 

November 4, 2015: China Smart Grid Technologies Business Briefing
As part of the China Smart Grid Technologies Reverse Trade Mission, there will be a one-day business briefing at the USTDA Business Center in Arlington, VA on November 4th, 2015. This business briefing will provide a forum for the delegates to update attending U.S. companies on the organizations' potential needs and procurements. One-on-one meetings will be arranged for U.S. companies with attending delegates. 

November 9 - 20, 2015: Nigeria & Kenya Healthcare Technologies Reverse Trade Mission
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will be hosting a delegation of senior officials from the Nigerian and Kenyan healthcare sectors for the Healthcare Technologies Reverse Trade Mission (RTM). The RTM is designed to introduce delegates to U.S. healthcare equipment suppliers and service providers seeking to do business in Nigeria and Kenya.

November 13, 2015: Nigeria & Kenya Healthcare Business Briefing for U.S. Companies
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will be hosting a Business Briefing on Friday, November 13 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to introduce delegates from the Nigeria & Kenya Healthcare Technologies Reverse Trade Mission to U.S. healthcare companies. The Business Briefing will provide an opportunity for U.S. company representatives to meet with healthcare decision makers in Nigeria and Kenya, and to learn firsthand about the rapidly expanding demand for healthcare equipment and services in these markets.

Johannesburg 3MW In-Pipe Hydropower Scheme
The City of Johannesburg is set to release a tender for a 3 MW in-pipe hydropower scheme, specifically the installation of hydroelectric turbines in its bulk water reticulation system. These turbines could generate up to ten percent of the energy required to power Johannesburg's city water utility.  The preliminary work on the in-pipe hydropower project has reportedly been completed and the city expects to introduce the first 3 MW of in-pipe power during the first quarter of 2016.  Click Here for More Info

Mauritius: Submarine Cable
The Government of Mauritius has expressed a commitment to affordable, ultrahighspeed internet connections for its inhabitants and businesses. In order to supplement the island's existing 17,077 Mbps of international connectivity, improve network resiliency, and provide route diversity, the government intends to build a third submarine fibre optic cable serving Mauritius and the Island of Rodrigues.  Click Here for More Info
