On the evening of Friday, June 15th, the City of Hagerstown’s portion of the Tour of Washington County bicycle race will be held on streets in the City Center. The race route consists of a loop on portions of W. Washington Street, S. Potomac Street, W. Baltimore Street, Hood Street, and Summit Avenue; the race route will be closed to all vehicular traffic during the event, and detour plans will be implemented to direct traffic around the closures. The attached exhibit shows the race route and the proposed street closures and detours. The affected streets will close to traffic at 5:00 p.m. and are expected to be reopened to traffic by approximately 10:30 p.m.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through any of the streets comprising the race route while the closures are in effect. Dispatchers are cautioned that traffic congestion is likely on the detour routes and on streets near the closures.
