Weather permitting, drivers can expect weekend work Oct. 18-21 for crews to construct new pavement at the Route 7/Reston Parkway intersection as part of the Route 7 Corridor Improvements.
From Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 a.m., Reston Parkway will be closed to all traffic between Round Pebble Lane/Fieldview Drive and Route 7.
Reston Parkway Detours
(see map below):
- Drivers on Reston Parkway heading to eastbound Route 7 will take Wiehle Avenue to Baron Cameron Avenue to Route 7.
- Drivers on Reston Parkway heading to westbound Route 7 will take Wiehle Avenue to the Fairfax County Parkway to Route 7.
- Drivers on eastbound Route 7 heading to Reston Parkway will continue past Reston Parkway, turn right onto Baron Cameron Avenue, and right onto Wiehle Avenue to Reston Parkway.
- Drivers on westbound Route 7 heading to Reston Parkway will continue past the Reston Parkway, turn left onto Reston Avenue, and left onto Wiehle Avenue to Reston Parkway.

Wiehle Avenue and Round Pebble Lane/Fieldview Drive
will remain
open to local traffic
. All residences and businesses will remain accessible throughout the weekend and signed detours will be in place.
Drivers can also expect single-lane closures in both directions of Route 7 near Reston Parkway during the following hours:
Eastbound:
- Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 a.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. to Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 21 at 4 a.m.
Westbound:
- Friday, Oct. 18 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 21 at 5 a.m.
Please allow extra travel time through the area during this period.
All closures are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21.
