State Route 20 Lane Closure Scheduled for Traffic Signal Installation

Motorists Should Expect Traffic Control and Possible Delays

YUBA CITY — Caltrans is advising motorists of a scheduled lane closure on State Route 20 at Stafford Way in Yuba City on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as crews work to install new traffic signal poles.

The #3 lane will be closed with traffic control measures in place to safely guide motorists through the work zone. This work is part of the $4.9 million State Route 20 and Stafford Way Intersection Safety Improvement Project, which includes the installation of a new traffic signal, intersection lighting, curb ramps and pavement markings to improve safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time, use caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment. Construction activities are subject to change due to weather, equipment availability or other unforeseen circumstances.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
