State Route 70 Overnight Pavement Rehabilitation

Begins July 8

Expect Overnight Lane Closures and Temporary Ramp Closures

YUBA COUNTY — Caltrans is scheduled to begin a $4.3 million pavement rehabilitation project on State Route 70 (SR 70) on Wednesday, July 8 between the State Route 65 (SR 65) and SR 70 split and the E Street Bridge in Yuba County.

The project will improve the roadway surface and provide a smoother ride for motorists. Construction is expected to take approximately 45 working days. Work will take place during nighttime hours to minimize impacts to daytime traffic.

Motorists can expect:

  • Lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on eastbound and westbound SR 70.
  • Temporary nighttime closures at on- and off-ramps within the work zone.
  • Reduced speeds through the construction area.
  • Minor travel delays.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
