PLACER/EL DORADO COUNTIES – Caltrans is advising motorists of the continuation of several construction projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin next week.
Along State Route 28 (SR 28), construction on a $31.7 million pavement rehabilitation project continues. The contractor for this project is Mercer Fraser Company of Eureka.

Electrical work between State Route 267 junction and Brassie Avenue, westbound lane closure is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week on Friday, September 25 at 7 a.m.

Electrical work between National Avenue and Anderson Road, westbound lane closure is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week on Friday, September 25 at 7 a.m.

Drainage work between Dollar Drive and Old Mill Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24.

Along State Route 89 (SR 89), construction on a $20.8 million pavement rehabilitation project continues with striping operations scheduled with one-way traffic control in effect at various locations between the Interstate 80 junction in Truckee and Alpine Meadows Road from 7 p.m. Monday, September 21 until 7 a.m. Friday, September 25. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.
A broadband project on SR 89 along the West Shore is part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed internet into rural communities. The contractor for this project is also Teichert Construction.
Broadband work is scheduled along SR 89 in Placer County in various locations between the El Dorado County line and SR 28 in Tahoe City with one-way traffic control in effect from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, September 20 through Thursday, September 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, September 25.

Between the Alpine County line and Cornelian Drive in Meyers, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24. Work is also scheduled Friday, September 25 from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Between Camp Richardson and the El Dorado/Placer County Line, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24. Work is also scheduled Friday, September 25 from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Between Cascade Road and Rubicon Drive one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. on Friday, September 25.
Additional broadband electrical work is scheduled along U.S. Highway 50 between the SR 89 junction in Meyers and E Street in South Lake Tahoe. One-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, September 20 through Thursday, September 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. on Friday, September 25.
Motorists could encounter delays of up to 20 minutes at each location. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment and material availability, or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
