Diamond Hill Road and Douglas Pike Bridges over I-295, Cumberland/Smithfield
Overnight pile driving is scheduled on Route 7 (Douglas Pike) over I-295, with left lane closures, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Noise is anticipated.

East Main Road Pavement Improvements, Middletown
Over the next two weeks, we will continue to remove the old and install the new precast concrete curbing along Route 138, working south from Mitchell’s Lane to Oliphant Lane. Crews will also reconstruct any drainage structures as needed. Motorists can anticipate possible lane shifts, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for these operations.

I-95 15 Bridges, Providence/Cranston/Warwick
Next week at this project, we’ll have alternating lane closures on I-95, from Park Avenue to Thurbers Avenue, for bridge work associated with the Eddy and Broad Street bridges, and on Route 10, from Frankfort Street to I-95, for steel repairs at the Pontiac Avenue Bridge, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence
We need to close Exit 37 B/C/D off I-95 North for bridge demolition on Saturday morning, May 31 from 12:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should also anticipate the closures of various ramps on I-95 at the Exit 37 interchange, Sunday-Thursday nights from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The ramps will be reopened when no longer needed, but during their closures, please follow signed detours. Alternating lane closure are also scheduled on I-95, from Exit 36 to Exit 39, for milling, paving, and utility restructure alignment, Sunday-Thursday nights from, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence
Median barrier work at the 6/10 requires overnight left lane closures on Route 6 West, from Broadway to Hartford Avenue, and Route 6 East, from Hartford Avenue to Westminster Street, Monday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m.-5 a.m.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick/Johnston
Next week, landscaping under the guardrails will involve alternating lane closures on I-295 North, from Exit 6 (Plainfield Pike) to Exit 9 (Route 6), Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We’ll also have roadway construction behind barrier with frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone on I-295 North, in the vicinity of Route 37, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bridge and road construction continues in Lincoln next week at this project. This will require temporary exit and ramp closures to and from portions of Route 146 and I-295 and the Route 146 service roads, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. We’ll also have alternating lane closures for bridge work on Route 99 South, from Exit 1 to Route 146, Monday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Road construction in North Smithfield will require the closure of Route 146A South, from Old Smithfield Road to Route 146 South, Monday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the ramp from Route 146 South to Route 146A North, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

School Street Pavement Improvements, Lincoln
Effective Tuesday, June 3, School Street, from Route 126 (Old River Road) to Main Street in Albion will close weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the daytime closures, the Town of Lincoln will replace their water and sewer lines and RIDOT will bring the existing sidewalks and curbing into ADA compliance and repave. Signed detours will be in place, but access to local businesses and homes will be maintained.

Tower Hill Road Bridge and Paving, North/South Kingstown
Motorists should anticipate alternating lane closures on Route 1, from the Oliver Stedman Government Center to the Route 4 split, and possible temporary ramp closures at the Routes 138 and 1 interchange ramps, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Our operations include preparing to install barrier at the Tower Hill Road Bridge along Route 1, installing new drainage structures and pipe on Route 1 South, removing and installing new curbing along Route 1, and doing electrical work on the ramp from Route 138 West to Route 1 South. Daytime bridge work is also anticipated behind barrier at the Routes 1 and 138 interchange ramps, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect frequent vehicle access in and out of all work zones and follow signed detours as necessary.

Warwick Corridor Project
Earlier this month as part of this project, we shifted to the eastbound side of the bridge all travel lanes in both directions of Route 113 (East Avenue) where it passes over I-95 and I-295. One travel lane remains open in each direction of Route 113 while we use accelerated bridge construction methods to demolish and replace the westbound side of the bridges. Except for the Route 113 East on-ramp to I-95 North, which is closed through the rest of the year, all ramps and exits remain open. Next week, we will continue to grade and adjust the slope where we will eventually widen the I-95 South on-ramp from Route 113 West. No additional lane closures are anticipated.

Washington Bridge & I-195, East Providence/ Providence
We’ll have up to two lanes closed for bridge preservation work on I-195 East, from the India Street off-ramp to the Taunton Avenue exit, Tuesday and Thursday nights, June 3, 5, 10 and 12, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Expect brief alternating lane closures at the India Point Pedestrian Bridge on I-195 East and West, Monday night, June 2, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Weekday Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) work is scheduled under the bridge with no lane closures, Monday-Friday, June 2-6, and 9-13, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bridge demolition activities continue on portions of the old bridge over the river. In accordance with CRMC guidelines, barges are being used to collect construction debris. Any debris that enters the water will be removed. Barges will then be towed to land for transfer into trucks for offsite disposal. Over the next week, work will continue on the piers near the center of the river. Demolition work will take place weekdays only from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. No work is currently planned after 4 p.m. to avoid any disruptive noise during evening hours.
