Traffic Update: Nightly Road Closure at Indian Creek Drive and 69 Street

Begins Tuesday, September 22, 2026

What's Happening

Beginning Tuesday, September 22, 2026, work crews will begin nightly road closures at Indian Creek Drive and 69 Street. Work will be done overnight, 10 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. As an alternative, please use Abbott Avenue for southbound detours and Harding Avenue for northbound detours. The image below shows the work zone outlined in red and detours in green.

This is part of the pump station #19 repairs at 69 Street and the nightly road closure is needed for construction crews to perform dewatering at the construction site and finalize a new pathway for the force main replacement. Several steel plates will remain for the new pathway. Notifications for traffic impacts and construction updates will be provided as the project progresses.

Please be advised that lane closures will be in effect to facilitate these operations. We kindly ask residents and local traffic to be mindful of the following:

  • Reduce speed and follow posted construction-zone speed limits.
  • Follow signs, pavement markings, barricades and directions from flaggers.
  • Maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles and construction equipment.
  • Expect sudden lane changes, reduced lanes and delays.
  • Consider alternate routes when available.
  • Do not enter closed lanes, construction areas or drive around barricades.
  • Use designated pedestrian walkways and crossings only.

Additionally, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) continues with traffic and pedestrian improvements along 71 Street. The daily and nightly lane closures along 71 Street will continue for this project. Please click here for the FDOT lane closure schedules and project information.
