Dear Aristoi Logic & Rhetoric Community,
As a follow-up to the traffic email sent before Easter break, we have received updated guidance from the Katy Police Department regarding traffic patterns on Morton Road.
Officer K. Vu shared that the City of Katy has officially approved an ordinance prohibiting U-turns on the westbound lanes of Morton Road between Elder Road and Patna Drive, following community concerns and multiple observed near-miss incidents. You make click the button below to see the ordinance.
This ordinance was published on April 2 and will take effect on April 17. “No U-Turn” signage has already been installed, and officers will continue issuing warnings through April 16. Beginning April 17, citations will be issued for any violations.
In order to comply with this new ordinance, drivers exiting the school and wishing to travel eastbound should plan to turn south into a neighborhood street, safely make a U-turn there, and then return to Morton Road heading eastbound.
While this adjusted route may take a few additional moments, the recently installed traffic light has improved overall flow and helps ensure a safer exit for all.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for continuing to model thoughtful and courteous conduct for our scholars. Your partnership in maintaining a safe and orderly environment is truly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Aristoi Classical Academy
