Traffic Update: March 11 - March 12 (March 4 - March 6 work postponed)

Due to weather conditions, the intersection closure of Broadway and Rollins Road and traffic switch over for Phase 3 of the US101/Broadway Interchange Project has been postponed from March 4 - 6 to March 11 - 12 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.  The intersection closure will allow for Caltrans to begin the process of switching traffic from the existing Broadway Overcrossing to the new Broadway Overcrossing.  The intersection will be open during daytime hours, however motorist should be prepared for changes in lane conditions.  The new traffic configuration will be in effect for approximately 10 months.

The subsequent weekends, Caltrans will begin demolition of the existing Broadway Overcrossing. Updates will be provided as more information is available. Motorist should expect delays and are encouraged to consider alternate routes during construction. This construction work is weather dependent.

lawnLawn Be Gone
At the Burlingame Police Station

City crews broke ground on the water efficient demonstration garden  by digging out the lawn at the Police Station. The lawn is officially gone and will be replaced by water efficient plants and hardscapes.  The removed turf will be reused by the City in future landscaping projects. Residents and property owners looking to remove their lawns, but who don't have a way to reuse the turf, should consider sheet mulching - a waste and chemical free alternative. Learn more here .
repairsRepairs at Cuernavaca Park
Temporary restroom closure and dog park move

The Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department has begun repairs to the leaking roof on the Cuernavaca Restroom. While the contractors are installing a new roofing system, the restroom will be closed to the Public. An accessible portable restroom has been placed in the parking lot for users of the park. Additionally, users of the temporary dog park will be routed through the ballfield to the temporary dog park during construction activity. We anticipate the restroom repairs to be completed by Mid March, weather pending. Thank you for your patience.
