News & Updates for January 2020
Dear Trail Fix'ers,
Wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy 2020! January's cold admittedly isn't the best backdrop for inspiring thoughts of warm summer weekends ahead, but it is the perfect month for planning out the race season. We thought it a good time to take the opportunity to provide some news and tidbits on what's been going on since our last update.

Of the many things we are looking forward to this year, the return of Trail Fix is among the first on the list. We are super-excited to be bringing the Fix back for a second go, using the learnings and all that we observed from last September to make the experience even better. An all-new team of 5 category along with some new course changes are among the many things we've been planning for Year 2, and we can't wait to bring them all together for you in eight months time.

Race Day will be on Saturday September 12th. The leap year in 2020 makes it appear later than it was in 2019, but this weekend following Labour Day is the one we're aiming to lock in as our annual date. Early entry rates are now in effect and registration is now open, at www.trailfix.ca!

Also "new" for 2020 will be our race souvenirs. Racers will be receiving custom Trail Fix socks in their team kits this year, courtesy of Endur Apparel You'll love the soft feel of these light, sublimated ankle socks - perfect for trail running!

A finisher gift will be issued at the finish line as well. Some have asked and we can tell you now that won't be a medal - we have made a point over the years of purposely offering "functional-only" race swag, in an effort to reduce our waste footprint at Storm Racing events. Details on what it will be for 2020 are coming soon!
We're very happy to report that local Caledon brewer Goodlot Farmstead Brewing Co. will be joining us again in 2020. The good folks at Goodlot offered to host a beer tent at the finish line last September, and in the time since have joined on as a Storm Racing series sponsor. Top finisher teams - expect to find yummy Goodlot beers in your prize packs this year!
The "Stages" page at trailfix.ca has now been fully updated with revised course maps for 2020. Aside from a few minor updates here and there between stages, the most notable changes you will find are:

  • An all-new starting area/transition zone at Terra Cotta. This new location is next to a large pavilion, and will feature a much bigger open grassy space, which will allow for an easier transition between race legs.

  • Stage 10 in Albion Hills will now be completed as a team. Rather than sending out individual runners for the final leg, each team will complete it together. Nothing like an arm-in-arm finish line crossing with your teammates!

Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let us know at info@stormevents.ca Looking forward to seeing you again in September!
