Wishing you all the best as we round out this very unusual winter season. As it's been a few months since we last reached out, we just wanted to let you know that we're still here, and still planning away for what we hope will be a much better 2021 race season!
While there admittedly isn't all that much new to report just yet on this year's Trail Fix, we are hoping to have further updates to you sooner than later. Registration hasn't launched just yet, but when it does, we will first reach out to teams that deferred their entries from 2020, with a simple deferral confirmation form that will make the process of verifying your team details as quick as easy as possible. General registration will follow soon after.
Just to re-fresh, here's a quick breakdown of all that's new with this year's fully-overhauled 'Albion Hills' edition of Trail Fix:
- An all-new racecourse design and format, made up of four separate stages within Albion Hills. Team will complete each stage four times, for a total of 16 legs covering 100km of total distance.
- New team categories open to groups of either four or five. As before, stages and legs can be split up between team members any way that you like.
- An all-new self-timed/fully-marked 10km mountain bike course available all weekend.
- An all-new kids race event.
This new course design was tested by over 100 runners on a self-guided basis back in September, and the very positive reviews more than proved it to be the way to go for 2021. Albion Hills is a true gem of a trail centre, that features both amazing mountain biking along with hundreds of on-site camping options. You can review the course, the stages and all the related details at trailfix.ca/race
In this new format, teams will be based throughout the day from one of four separate zones centered around the Race Site - all in open fields with ample space for physical distancing. Each zone will be per-assigned its own initial starting stage, and start time. Further details on other measures we'll be taking to promote safe racing are available here
