Trails Connections
Happy New Year from your Trails Family! Check out our winter edition of Trails Connections and see what we have been up to - including our Annual Holiday Celebration, the construction of our new cabin, exciting funding news and our plans for 2018!
Annual Holiday Celebration 2017
On December 16th, we welcomed participants and their families, Board members, alumni, staff and friends of Trails for our annual turkey dinner. It was an amazing day filled with many opportunities to connect with one another and share Trails with our families. Special thanks to Chef Dieter and his family for preparing and serving 14 turkeys and all the fixings for 140 guests and to our LITs for organizing such a great event!

Flying Fox Nation Kicks Off 2018
Our Year 1 participants, the Flying Fox Nation group, braved the cold temperatures and kicked of our 2018 weekends with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and plenty of hot chocolate. In addition, they enjoyed yoga and worked on their funding letters.

Proud to Receive MEC Support
Trails is proud to partner with retail co-operative, MEC again this year.Through their Community Investment program, MEC supports strategic grassroots organizations with programs that increase the community of outdoor enthusiasts by reducing barriers to activity while enabling everyone to learn and practice responsible outdoor recreation through environmental stewardship. For the second year in a row, we are truly grateful to be receiving brand new gear, along with funding, from MEC to ensure our Four Seasons, Four Years, For Life programme can grow, and is accessible and safe for all participants.

In addition, Trails was featured in a recent MEC article about the benefits of getting kids outdoors. Thank you MEC!!

New Cabin Construction Underway
Staff and participants continue to watch in great anticipation as the new cabin is built, despite the chilly temperatures. This new cabin, situated on the hill opposite our main lodge, will provide a "home away from home" for 20 participants and their staff facilitators to allow Trails to have 40 kids on-site at one time. In 2017, we doubled our enrolment of Year 1 participants and we are evaluating whether our programme will have the same BIG impact with twice as many participants.

Save the Date: Annual Inside Ride
We hope you'll join us Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 2-4 PM at the Adelaide Club in First Canadian Place for a unique and fun indoor cycling team event. Grab your friends or colleagues and compete together for best fundraiser, best costume, best team name or most kilometres.
