Dear Training Depot Family,
We appreciate each of you continuing to support our Training Depot Health Plan by keeping children home when they aren't feeling well and communicating with our office staff in a timely manner when your family has come in contact with COVID positive individuals or when there is illness in your home.
As covid numbers continue to decrease, we have discontinued checking temperatures at the doors for all students and staff entering the facility. We are continuing with extra disinfecting of facilities and with certain other cautionary measures currently in place. Teachers have access to thermometers, if they feel they are needed, during class time.
Childcare Licensing has lifted the restrictions on parents entering the building. We are very thankful that all parents are now able to bring your child into the building as well as pick them up at the end of the day. Here are the updated guidelines we are following as of now:
*As parents enter the building, there is a sanitation cart with hand sanitizer and masks if needed. We have office staff available to help direct you to your child’s classroom if needed.
*In the morning, parents may walk your child to their classroom door. When arriving to their classroom, you may open the door. The teacher will meet you at the door to receive your child in the morning. Please do not enter all the way into the classroom as we are still trying to keep classrooms from having to quarantine in case a parent were to contract covid. Please keep conversation with the teacher limited to 2 minutes or less as they are still responsible for supervising their class as well as helping your child come into the classroom.
*In the afternoon, parents will NEED TO MAKE SURE & bring your ID when you come to pick up your child in case your child’s teacher has not yet met you in person or in case there is a substitute teacher in the class. Also, parents may walk to your child’s classroom and again open the classroom door to let your child’s teacher know that you have arrived to pick up your child. The teacher will help your child gather their things and bring them to the door to meet you. Please do not enter all the way into the classroom as we are still trying to keep classrooms from having to quarantine in case a parent were to contract covid. Again, please keep conversation with the teacher limited to 2 minutes or less as they are still responsible for supervising their class as well as helping your child as they leave the classroom for the day.
*In light of the fact that we are still required to quarantine an entire class if someone in the class contracts covid, we are asking all parents to wear a mask in the mornings and afternoons as you drop off & pick up your child. Teachers will do their best to make sure they are wearing their mask as well.
*Nap stuff will no longer be sent home daily. We will go back to our pre-covid policy of sending nap stuff home each Friday to be washed.
*Illness – We will also return to our pre-covid policies regarding illness. Children must now be fever free for only 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to the center or a release from the physician that has been signed and dated. So if your child has been sent home with fever, your child will not be allowed to return to the center the next day; however, they may return the day after as long as they are symptom free. The exceptions to this policy are if a child is diagnosed with the Flu, with Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease, or with the Coronavirus. In the case of these diagnosis, children are required to be out at least 5 days from the date of the diagnosis and must be at least 24 hours fever free without medication before returning. In the case of a diagnosis of Coronavirus, we will have to follow the requirement of our Health Department regarding the child’s return date.
If a child becomes ill while being at the Training Depot and we feel that it is better for the child not to be in a group setting, we will contact the parent and ask for the child to be picked up. Children will be sent home if they develop a fever of 100.0 or higher and are showing other signs of illness. We will return to this policy as well: Now instead of ONE of these episodes, if a child has two or more episodes of diarrhea or vomiting, the parent will be contacted to make arrangements for their child to be picked up from the center. If your child has been sent home for diarrhea or vomiting, your child will not be allowed to return to the center the next day; however, they may return the day after as long as they are symptom free. If you keep your child home with an illness, please contact the office and let us know.
We will keep you immediately informed of any additional changes.
We greatly appreciate each of you and your patience with us as we have gone thru this pandemic season. We are praying that as herd immunity develops, we are getting closer to 'the light at the end of the tunnel'!
Stay Healthy and Stay Safe,
Ms. Renae & Your Training Depot Staff
