FINANCIAL WELLNESS FOR SMALL BUSINESS

This 10-week program will provide instruction to small business owners who are seeking to be approved for business loans. The objective is to assist small businesses in the creation of a sound financial plan for their business, improving their opportunity for success. The program will also address strategies to repair the business owner’s credit score (if applicable).


This 10-week program will cover the following topics:


  • Banking Services. Relationship building and an overview of the services available to small business.
  • Time Management. How to delegate so that your time can be freed-up to focus on business strategy and generating revenue.
  • Financial Management. The importance of sound financial management, the basics of small business financials, financing for a growing business, financing working capital and financing fixed assets.
  • Record Keeping as a Managerial Tool. The practices and rules of record keeping for small businesses and the record keeping software tools.
  • Business Credit. Strategies for building or improving business credit and how personal credit impacts the ability of a business to obtain credit.
  • Risk Management. The common risks associated with a small business, and the internal/external factors which can cause risks.
  • Insurance. The importance of small business insurance and the full range of insurance products and services; what’s required and other coverages.
  • Tax Planning and Reporting.  The range of state, local and federal taxes; reporting requirements of a small business and its owner.
  • Selling Your Business/Succession Planning. Changing business ownership through selling, closing, or transferring the business to successors. 
  • Managing Cash Flow. The importance of cash flow management for a small business, and understanding the need for expert assistance and advice.
