Trainings in Alaska Result in Positive Impact in Treating OUD
Last year, PCSS Clinical Expert Melissa Weimer, DO, MCR, traveled to a rural Alaska community to give a small group of clinicians specialized training in treating opioid use disorders (OUD), which had a significant impact on this rural community.

Several communities across the country are utilizing the trainings created by the PCSS grant and this effort in Alaska further demonstrates the far-reaching significance of these trainings. PCSS, funded by SAMHSA, is helping increase the use of evidence-based practices in the prevention and treatment of OUD with increased screening and a better understanding of the effectiveness of the use of medications for the treatment of OUDs.  [ Read more ]
