April Group Exercise and Martial Arts Schedule

Taekwondo Lesson of the Month:

Courage

Courage isn’t about being fearless—it’s about showing up even when you are scared.

In Taekwondo, courage shows up in the moments that matter most:

  • The first time you step on the mat
  • Raising your hand when you’re unsure
  • Breaking a board you think you can’t
  • Sparring someone more experienced
  • Testing for your next belt with nerves in your stomach

Courage is choosing to try anyway and surprising yourself.

What Courage Looks Like in Class:

  • Attempting the kick even after you miss
  • Speaking up with confidence and respect
  • Pushing through a tough workout when quitting feels easier
  • Encouraging a teammate who’s struggling

Real-Life Connection:

Courage doesn’t stay in the gym - it carries into everyday life.

It’s walking into a new school, standing up for what’s right, trying out for a team, or starting something new when you’re not sure how it will go.

This Month’s Challenge:

Ask yourself daily:

👉 “Where can I be brave today?”

It doesn’t have to be big. Courage is built in small decisions:

  • Trying again
  • Not giving up
  • Believing in yourself a little more than yesterday

At the end of the day, courage isn’t about winning- it’s about showing up, putting in the effort, and refusing to quit.

Black belts aren’t born- they’re built through courage, one step at a time.
