Taylor always wanted to feel thankful on Christmas—but it wasn’t easy.

Paralysis of the stomach. Chronic pain. Fainting and dizziness. Taylor faced constant health challenges that prevented her from attending school and took away her mobility.

Even Christmas Dinner was a struggle. Because she relies on feeding tubes, Taylor felt alone and left out of the celebratory meal.

“It just can be really heavy and really hard,” she says.

But everything changed when Taylor was matched with PADS Dash last year. Her certified PADS Service Dog now delivers Taylor’s medication right to her lap, along with providing consistent stability that keeps her from falling. She doesn’t fear becoming stranded alone if she ventures out anymore. And when Dash met the family last Christmas, she finally felt part of the celebration.

“I have so much independence, she says. “A weight has been lifted…it felt like welcoming a new member of the family.”
