Transformative Climate Communities Technical Assistance Available Now

The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) has expanded its technical assistance offerings for the Transformative Climate Communities Program (TCC) to support applicants in advance of the next funding application period. TCC funds community-led planning and infrastructure projects that achieve major environmental, health, and economic benefits in California’s most disadvantaged communities.  In preparation for the next funding cycle of TCC, technical assistance will be provided to potential applicants through workshops, tailored resources, and other guidance from October 2022 to February 2023, with the aim to help applicants prepare competitive Round 5 Planning or Implementation Grant Applications in early 2023.

Upcoming Workshops for Tribal Communities, Unincorporated Communities, and Rural Communities

Technical assistance will kick off in October with two audience-specific workshops. No prior familiarity with TCC is necessary to attend the workshops. TCC staff and technical assistance providers will discuss the program framework, requirements, and how to develop a competitive application. Attendees will be invited to share their perspectives, experiences, and feedback on the program. TCC staff will be available to answer questions during and after the workshops. Timeline

Technical Assistance: Technical assistance is available between now and the release of the Round 5 application in 2023. Technical assistance providers and SGC will support applicants through workshops, tailored resources, and other guidance. Further information will be posted to the TCC Technical Assistance Webpage as it becomes available. If interested in taking advantage of technical assistance in advance of Round 5, please fill out this brief intake survey.    Guidelines: The Round 5 Draft Guidelines will be released in mid-November for a 30-day public comment period. Guidelines workshops will take place in November and December 2022. The Final Guidelines, the Notice of Funding Availability, and the Round 5 Application will be released in 2023. Application period: During the Round 5 application period in 2023, individualized technical assistance will be provided to all Implementation Grant applicants as well as to Planning Grant applicants from Tribal Communities and Unincorporated Communities.
