Friends, over the past few weeks I've been able to spend time with the people who are making these bold moves in our community, and I am on fire! Their passion for igniting our local economy echoes mine for driving our students to succeed in the jobs these companies will provide - our students must be and will be ready.
Transformative investments are coming that will accelerate our economy as a whole and opportunities for individual advancement. shift_ed is working with Guilford County Schools to fuel students' passion for learning and set them up to graduate ready to work and lead in these careers.
The population of the City of High Point will double in the next two weeks when the High Point Market returns. Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughn coined the phrase "Greensbooming" in her address last week, and Sean Suggs, President of Toyota Battery Manufacturing, North Carolina suggested we start calling the area Tech Town. There is no better place to grow than the Piedmont Triad.
And there's no better time to get behind the wheel and shift this effort into an even higher gear. With a team like the one we have in Guilford County, anything is possible.
Boldly,
Wendy
