LINDNER CENTER OF HOPE - May 2025

Beacon Update

Beacon here, bringing you the inside scoop on expansion milestones at Lindner Center of Hope. Our Rec Therapy garden beds were moved to a new spot to create space for our Residential Treatment expansion. Moving the gardens allows for this therapeutic space to continue to serve our patients. Seeds planted this Spring will grow just like the building and services we offer grow this year. I’ll be reporting from the field throughout construction, so stay tuned for more updates as we build toward an even brighter future in mental health care.

CAMPAIGN SPOTLIGHT

Endowment Funding

Endowment funding serves as a lasting financial resource that ensures the long-term strength and stability of our organization.

Demolition of administration building

A New Chapter Begins

On a gray and drizzly Monday, May 5th, we said a final goodbye to the Administrative House at Lindner Center of Hope. This wasn’t just demolition, it was the first official step in our building expansion project. To move forward, we first had to clear space.

What’s Next for Our Expansion Project

Now that the Administrative House has come down, here’s what you can expect in the coming weeks:

  • Staging Area Established: The site where the house once stood will be used to store construction materials and equipment.
  • Temporary Construction Drive: A paved drive through the former house site will soon provide a designated route for construction and delivery vehicles, helping maintain safety and smooth traffic flow on campus.
  • Utility Work Begins: Site work is underway to install the necessary utilities that will support the new expansion.
  • Site Preparation: Dirt will be moved to prepare the area for both utility installation and future construction.
  • Construction Trailer: A trailer has been positioned on the north side of Lot A to serve as a base for the construction team.
  • Safety Fencing Installation: Construction fencing has been installed around a portion of Lot A. The remaining section of Lot A will stay open until mid-June, when it will permanently close.

While the weather set a somber tone, the day marked real progress and it’s just the beginning.

We appreciate your patience and support as we take these exciting next steps toward growing our campus and services.

The Farmer Family Foundation Gifts

$3 Million Commitment

We are proud to share that The Farmer Family Foundation has made a remarkable $3 million gift to support Lindner Center of Hope’s Transforming Hope campaign to expand care, improve patient access, and strengthen our future.

As one of the first major contributors to this effort, the Foundation has once again demonstrated its deep commitment to mental health and to building a healthier, more hopeful community. This early and generous leadership gift laid a strong foundation for the Center’s next chapter of growth and innovation.

“The Farmer Family Foundation’s extraordinary generosity is helping to make our vision a reality,” said Dr. Michael A. Groat, President and CEO of Lindner Center of Hope. “Their leadership is not only fueling progress, but also inspiring others to join us in transforming the future of mental health care.”

We are profoundly grateful for the Foundation’s ongoing partnership. Their generosity and leadership continue to elevate our mission—advancing mental health through expertise, science, and humanity—and amplify the impact we can have in the lives of those we serve.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are proud to highlight one of our cherished friends, Dr. Michael Leadbetter, who has spent the past 11 months traveling across the country to raise awareness about mental health.

Driving his Friendship Bus, Dr. Leadbetter has visited cities and communities nationwide—reconnecting with longtime friends and making new ones—all in support of Lindner Center of Hope. With each stop, he shares a message of hope and healing and encourages people to join him in supporting mental health care.

In a remarkable show of generosity, Dr. Leadbetter makes a gift to Lindner Center of Hope for every friend he visits, old and new. To date, he has helped raise $60,910 in memory of his late wife, Debbie Leadbetter, whose memory inspires his mission and in honor of friendship and the lasting impact friends have had on his life.

As Dr. Leadbetter nears the final leg of his journey, which concludes this June, we invite you to join him.

Consider making your gift to the Transforming Hope Campaign today in honor of Dr. Leadbetter’s Friendship Bus Tour. Together, we are making a significant difference, enabling the expansion of mental health services and enhancing resources for people in need.

Thank you for your support,
