Thanks to you, our donors and friends, the 2019 Gala was a HUGE success, reaching new heights!

Together we raised $1.3 million to support Foundations in Education programs. With your help, we shall transform the lives of thousands of students through tuition assistance and innovative programs in our classrooms.

The evening began on the right note when members of the Select Choir of Saint Aloysius School in New Canaan , under the direction of Alexander Patrie,  sang “When You Believe” at the reception.

Joshua Dixon, our Leader of Tomorrow from Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Fairfield, delivered the main course with a talk about the value of Catholic education. He said that his life and his studies fell apart after his mother’s death to cancer when he was just 8 years old. He attended five different schools in the two years after her passing before his older sister enrolled him at Saint Thomas. “I am a different person mentally and spiritually than I was before I got to Saint Thomas,” said the 13-year-old who will be attending Fairfield Prep in the Fall and hopes to be an architect. “It has brought balance to my life and I’ve grown in faith.” Click here to listen to Joshua's speech.

Helping Families Afford Catholic Education

The Bishop's Scholarship Fund application period is now officially closed and our scholarship committee is busy deliberating potential tuition assistance awards. However, it's not too late to sponsor a Leader of Tomorrow student or support Foundations in Education. Please contact Holly at holly@foundationsineducation.org to find out how or visit us online .

New Funders to Foundations in Education The John and Ethel Kashulon Foundation granted $10,000 for tuition assistance. The Foundation Board expressed eagerness for future support of Pathways, a program in our high schools encouraging skills development for the trades. This is new territory for us to explore and we appreciate the Foundation's interest in working with us to engage more students for workplace readiness and more sustainable futures. Click here to read more about Pathways. The Lone Pine Capital Foundation granted $1,000, per the recommendation of Senior Financial Accountant Joseph Rahtelli. Rahtelli expressed his profound pleasure for Lone Pine's support of our mission. The Lone Pine Capital Foundation is well-renowned for its fight against poverty through education. Foundations in Education continues to pursue new corporate partners who wish to transform lives through education.
