Hunger Hike

The Trail is Taking Shape

We’re off to a great start! Just one week into the 2026 Hunger Hike, 10 teams are already on the trail and running toward our $110,000 goal. Together, these teams and their supporters have already raised more than $12,000 to help provide food to our neighbors in need.

But there’s still a long way to go, and we want you to join us for the trek. Starting now through September 20, Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co. and The Lobby are inviting customers to round up their total at checkout and donate the difference to Hunger Hike. Every extra step counts, and these small contributions can add up to make a tremendous impact.

Hunger Hike is more than a walk. It’s a journey we take together to help address hunger locally, regionally and globally. Funds raised support the work of Food Finders Food Bank, Lafayette Urban Ministry, and St. Thomas Aquinas Haiti Ministry, helping provide nutritious food and resources to people facing hunger.

Whether you’re ready to lace up your shoes and start a team, make a donation, or simply encourage someone who is already on the trail, there’s a place for you on this journey. With every dollar, every step, and every act of support, we move closer to a community where no one has to face hunger alone.

August is Create-A-Will Month

Leave a Legacy of Hope

For many years, faithful supporters of Lafayette Urban Ministry have provided shelter, food, financial assistance, and hope to neighbors facing difficult circumstances. Some have chosen to extend that impact beyond their lifetime by including LUM in their estate plans.

One common misconception about planned giving is that it is only for the wealthy. In reality, many legacy gifts come from ordinary people who care deeply about the causes they have supported throughout their lives.

A gift through a will, trust, retirement account, or beneficiary designation does not have to be large to make a lasting difference. Legacy is measured more by values than wealth. Planned giving is an opportunity to reflect what has mattered most in your life and continue making a difference for future generations.

If you've already included Lafayette Urban Ministry in your plans, thank you for your generosity and foresight. If you'd like to learn more about leaving a legacy of hope, we'd be honored to have a confidential conversation with you.
