CITY HAS PLAN TO ADDRESS BLIGHT DOWNTOWN
The city of Tacoma is working on a plan to address trash collection issues in downtown. The effort would target an area between 6th Avenue and South 11th Street and Court A to Court D, commonly referred to as the Theater District. A letter from Chamber VP David Schroedel, laying our the issue including the 56,000 pounds of waste removed from this area each week, was distributed at the city council meeting on Oct. 29.

WOMEN TO WATCH EVENT - A HUGE SUCCESS
On Thursday, November 7, hundreds of South Sounders came to Federal Way Performing Arts Center for South Sound magazine’s third annual Women to Watch event. The inspirational speakers themselves — five local women who unpacked their journeys of struggle and success — were complemented by a number of new elements this year, including a market featuring all-female vendors and a female DJ.
