Red Line-replacement bus service on April 27-28
The MBTA will be using shuttle buses to replace Red Line service between Alewife and Harvard on the weekend of April 27-28.
|
|
Bus routes on long-term detours to/from Harvard, Lechmere, Central, and Kendall
As the result of bridge and underpass closures for the Green Line Extension, the MBTA will be running several bus routes on long-term detours beginning in March.
Cambridge-bound
Route 80
- Lechmere to Arlington Center buses began detours on Sunday, March 22. The MBTA expects delays of 5 to 10 minutes.
These Cambridge bus routes are also detoured as the result of a street closure on Washington St. in Somerville:
- 86 - Sullivan to Reservoir via Harvard
- 91 - Sullivan to Central
- CT2 - Sullivan to Ruggles via Kendall

Truncated Fitchburg Line on weekends
As the result construction work for the Green Line Extension, the MBTA Commuter Rail will terminate the Fitchburg Line at Porter Square on many upcoming weekends.
To connect to Boston on the weekend of April 27-28, the MBTA will provide a free bus shuttle from Porter Square to Harvard Square to allow connections to Boston to be made by the Red Line.
To connect to Boston on other weekends, commuter rail riders will transfer directly to the Red Line at Porter Square.

MBTA launches one-stop webpage for weekend service changes
The MBTA now has a website devoted for information on weekend service changes that result from repairs and upgrades.

Inman Square Coffee Talk

Comment on MassDOT's Capital Investment Program Update
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on the State's Capital Investment Program that will be presented to the MassDOT and MBTA boards for approval on May 20. The Capital Investment Program guides state investments in transportation infrastructure from 2020 to 2024. Public comments will start on May 21 with a meeting at the State Transportation Building
that will be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing on the CIP web page
