Transit Equity Day is February 4th!

Transit Equity Day commemorates the life and legacy of Rosa Parks, and is observed annually on her birthday, February 4th. Rosa Parks became a key figure in the Civil Rights movement when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama and then arrested in 1955. Many transportation providers will observe this day by "saving a seat" at the front of their bus, or even providing free rides to customers!

NADTC wants to hear from you. How did you or your agency commemorate Transit Equity Day?
