Open Music Sessions - Friday, June 2

Help us celebrate the one-year anniversary of Denver Open Media 104.7FM at the Open Music Sessions for the month of June.

The party starts upstairs with t he Countdown Show at 7:30 pm, with free food from Sexy Pizza .

And then Transition Theater, featuring members of Denver Open Media, will take the stage in Studio A starting at 8 pm.

Another Great OMF Breakfast Event!

A big thank you goes out to the 151 people who showed up at this year's annual fundraising breakfast for Open Media Foundation. The event took place at Blue Moon Brewery and raised over $16,000 for the organization. Check out the video that was featured during the breakfast.

Web Client - Colorado Health Institute

The Colorado Health Institute has a new website, thanks to the Web Services Department at Open Media Foundation.

Leo Kacenjar, a Senior Developer in the Web Department, explains why the department is particularly proud of this new website. "The website has a componetized design that allows for very flexible research building."

The Colorado Health Institute conducts research on Colorado health policy to better inform policy decisions impacting health care.

Video Client - Lutheran Family Services
The Video Production Department has just completed a video for client Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains. You can watch the video here.

Lutheran Family Services offers refugee and asylee services, as well as services for children in vulnerable situations.

Superhero Shorts!

Open Media Foundation teamed up with Pop Culture Classroom to offer a semester-long after-school program at Girls Athletic Leadership School. Superhero Shorts gave the students the opportunity to design their own comic books and produce a short film based on their creation.

New Staff Members

Welcome to the new staff members at Open Media Foundation.

Peter DiBiri joins OMF as our new Chief Operating Officer.

Melissa Kerr and Kate Mason are additions to the Web Services team, as Senior UX and Visual Designer and Account Director respectively.

Finally, we have Dylan Rine and Jaina Sorrel joining the OMF team as AmeriCorps VISTAs.

OMF Seeks Drupal Developer

The Open Media Foundation Web Services Department is seeking a Drupal Developer to join the team. Applicants need to be at expert level and have extensive experience in creating custom functionality for Drupal 7 and 8 sites.

There is also an opening for a Google AdWords Specialist.

Open Media Lab

Join us for a special Open Media Lab, where
Adobe Representative James Strawn will demonstrate some of the newest updates to the Adobe Creative Cloud, released after April's National Association of Broadcasters convention. Covered topics include improvements to graphics, titles and audio in Premiere Pro.

Strawn's demonstration is Wednesday, June 21, 5 to 6 pm. Stick around after to collaborate with your fellow DOM members during regular Open Media Lab hours (6:45 to 8:30 pm).

Equipment News
We received a lot of new equipment in the month of May, including a Mackie 8-channel field mixer, three XLR adapters to get better quality sound from a DSLR camera, and four Mevo live event cameras that can be controlled from an iPhone or iPad. Check them out here!
