Kettle Moraine Schools Transitioning To Virtual Learning March 17
Dear KM Parents and Guardians,

Due to many factors and considerations including the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus, KMSD has decided - along with our fellow Waukesha County School Districts - to shift to virtual learning starting March 17.

NO CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE MARCH 16. BUILDINGS WILL BE CLOSED.

We realize this decision creates challenges for all and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work through these unprecedented times. KM believes the safety of our students, staff, families and visitors is always the top priority and this decision supports a local, regional and global effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Many factors influenced this decision:
  • State of Emergency issued by Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow
  • State of Emergency issued by State of Wisconsin
  • CDC and Waukesha County Health Department Guidelines
  • Multiple states across the U.S. now closing all public schools
  • Multiple closures by universities in our area and state and country
  • Multiple local, state and national organizations adopting aggressive social distancing policies
Three School Board Candidates Make Their Pitches At KMHS Student Senate Forum
Long-time KM School Board incumbents Gary Vose and Jay Crouse each voiced their support for the upcoming April 7 referendum, while challenger Brian Hastings said he has yet to make up his mind. The three candidates answered those questions and more from the Student Senate, then a few more from the dozen people in attendance during the 70-minute KM School Board candidate forum March 10 at KMHS.

A fourth candidate, John Rossbach, did not attend. He sent written answers to the student questions. Click below to view the entire forum.
Lake Country Community Fest and KMHS Maker Faire Is Cancelled For March 14
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends all non-essential gatherings of 250 or more people be cancelled or postponed statewide to help protect Wisconsinites from the spread of COVID-19, particularly those who are most vulnerable to infection and severe disease. Please see below regarding the cancellation of this Saturday's Lake Country Community Fest, which includes KMHS' Maker Faire.

While all district events are now cancelled, we are working with both chambers to possibly reschedule this important community event in the coming months. We will share more info as it becomes available.
