REMEMBER SAND CREEK

We're in a season of transition. Not just Thanksgiving to Advent, political, or warm temperatures to a cooler ones. . . we are finishing the season of North Texas Conference and about to begin the Horizon Texas Conference.

Our UWFaith activities continue and your 2024 North Texas Conference officers are still serving. Celebrate, volunteer, send your remittances to your District Treasurers, and contact Joyce Whiteley with donations for Abide.

Next week you'll see a Horizon Texas UWFaith newsletter. Soon the new (yet familiar) Horizon Texas UWFaith website will be full of information for you.

Take care to stay well and enjoy both seasons!

Wendy Campbell, 2024 NTC & 2025 HTC UWFaith President

PS - Thanks to Julie Tipton and Karen Anderson-Lain for managing the powerpoint slides at the Inaugural Horizon Texas UWFaith event in Abilene!

Your donations to our '24 Mission Project will make a difference to many moms and their babies! Our support is helping them do more to improve the disparities in maternal health here in our North Texas community and they are very thankful! Thank you!

Will you help sew little labels (like the square logo shown) onto the handmade items for babies? Do you have more items to donate?

IN REMEMBRANCE OF SAND CREEK. . .

Do you know what happened?

The 160th anniversary of the tragic massacre at Sand Creek in eastern Colorado led by Methodist pastor Colonel John Chivington and enabled by prominent Methodist Gov. John Evans. For more than a century the church failed to condemn the massacre. Many of us don't know this history today - do you?

Click to listen: Now is time to learn more and pray as the church builds the trust and relationships necessary for reconciliation and no more broken treaties.
