Greetings! This year kicks off an incredible time of transition for Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists! We all know that the work we do is so much more than education alone. We provide specialized care for people with or at risk for diabetes and we do it well.

As the 2020 Chair of the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE), formerly known as the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE), I’m asking for your help with this exciting transition. I’d like to encourage you to start using the CDCES credential today! Change your email signature, social media accounts, presentation title pages; and, when time and budget allow, update your business cards, promotional materials, and name plate; encourage your colleagues to make the change; post #CDCES, #BeyondEducation, and #SoMuchMore on social media.  We have an important opportunity to represent the new credential in a positive, inspiring, and confident way moving forward. The CDE credential served us well for over 30 years.
