Good afternoon,
As I shared in last week’s communication, staffing continues to be a concern both in the classroom and on the school busses. We have come to the point where we do not have enough staff and subs to effectively transport students to school and educate them in-person. There has also been an increase in our self-quarantine numbers as we continue to see a rise in community spread. Students and staff are doing the right things while in school, unfortunately, decisions made outside of the school are impacting many of our students. We will transition our students to full-time remote learning following the schedule below. The decision to return to in-person learning will be reevaluated and shared prior to the conclusion of the winter break. This decision will be made based on staffing and cases within our school community.
It’s important to remember that remote learning can be extremely challenging academically, socially, and emotionally for students. Each building will offer counseling services during this time; that information will come from individual buildings. It is our hope that we will be able to return our students back to full time in-person learning after the holiday break. We hope this time away will give both our staff and students an opportunity to get healthy.
Please see all of the details outlined below.
Respectfully,
Kasey Perkins, Ed.D
Superintendent
