Ideas to reduce traffic congestion on Rt. 272 unveiled in North East workshop

As reported by the Cecil Whig, "The Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) and consulting firm Wallace Montgomery unveiled more than a half-dozen recommendations to reduce traffic congestion and to improve safety on the Route 272 corridor from the Route 274 intersection at Cecil College to Shady Beach Road, south of North East, during an April 29 workshop at the North East Fire Hall."

Claymont residents speak out against a proposed roundabout

As reported by Delaware Public Media, "A proposed roundabout along the Philadelphia Pike faced pushback from Claymont area residents."

New Speed Limit on Veale Road

The Village of Ardencroft announced, "The speed limit on Veale Rd within the Village of Ardencroft has been lowered to 25 MPH, and the start of the existing 25 MPH speed limit zone on Harvey Rd as you come into the Ardens from Claymont and the I-95 overpass now has speed limit sign"

Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) electric vehicle (EV) charging survey closes June 13, 2025

New Castle County Chamber of Commerce says Delaware may lose SEPTA access without action

As reported by the Delaware Business Times, "The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Regional Rail may cut service to four stations in New Castle County and increase fares by 21.5% on remaining services, according to SEPTA’s latest funding scenario, in August this year. The service could be fully terminated in January 2026 if SEPTA does not receive the necessary funding from the Pennsylvania Legislature to address a $213 million budget deficit."

DNREC Extends Electric Vehicle Incentive Programs

DNREC announced that Delawareans looking to purchase a new or used electric vehicle (EV), along with businesses seeking to install Level 2 EV charging stations through the state’s Clean Transportation Incentive Program will continue to get help with the cost through April 30, 2026.

The American Public Transportation Association’s new report reveals U.S. transit ridership increasing to 85 percent of pre-pandemic levels

As reported by Mass Transit Magazine, "U.S. public transit ridership has rebounded to 85 percent of pre-pandemic levels, according to two new reports from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). APTA notes the national office occupancy rate is trailing behind transit’s recovery, sitting at 52 percent."
