Newark sees safety improvements on Main Street

As reported by Delaware Public Media, "The city started making improvements August 8 in partnership with the Delaware Department of Transportation. Newark City Council approved adding several new safety measures at its June meeting, including additional stop signs, rumble strips, pedestrian crossing signage and all-way stop control at two locations."

Dart First State considers supplemental service if SEPTA cuts take effect

As reported by KYW News Radio, "SEPTA riders would largely be on their own to find transportation options if service cuts go into effect. But one transit agency in Delaware is considering some supplemental service."

Delaware expands off-road wheelchair access in state parks

As reported by TownSquareLive, "People with disabilities now have greater access to Delaware’s state parks, thanks to an expanded program offering all-terrain wheelchairs at five park locations."

The Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) is the regional transportation planning agency for New Castle County, Delaware and Cecil County, Maryland. As a federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), WILMAPCO is charged with planning and coordinating transportation investments for the region based on federal policy, local input, technical analysis, and best practices.
