Lead policy scientist at the University of Delaware's Institute for Public Administration hosts collaborative policy forum

According to Biden School News, "The Institute for Public Administration (IPA) co-hosted a collaborative policy forum titled 'Addressing Delaware’s Demographic Trends and Infrastructure Challenges: Models for Opportunity and Innovation.' This forum was coordinated and moderated by Julia O’Hanlon, health and aging policy services coordinator at IPA, in partnership with the Delaware Department of Transportation’s Division of Planning, Delaware Population Consortium, and WILMAPCO."

No more trains to Philly? DART responds to SEPTA cutbacks

As reported by DelawareLIVE, "Delaware transit officials are bracing for major service disruptions as SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, faces a $213 million funding shortfall that could gut commuter rail service between Philadelphia and northern Delaware. At a July 1 informational webinar hosted by DART (Delaware Transit Corporation), state planners outlined proposed SEPTA service reductions and DART’s potential response."

Maryland plans MARC expansion into Virginia and Delaware as ridership surges

As reported by WUSA9, "Maryland is reviving plans to expand MARC train service into Virginia and Delaware, the state Department of Transportation announced. The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) laid out phases of plans over then next five and 10 years. Routes would reach Wilmington, Delaware; Alexandria, Virginia; and Cumberland, Maryland. And there would be more trains between D.C. and Baltimore, even on weekends."

It will soon cost more to drive on Delaware's toll roads

As reported by Delaware Public Media, "Tolls will be increasing on Delaware roads. DelDOT is increasing tolls on I-95, Route 1 and US 301 starting on August 15. These increases along with other toll and DMV increases will generate about $107 million in additional revenue that DelDOT’s director of community relations C.R. McLeod says will support needed infrastructure investments."

DelDOT set to begin two-year project to widen U.S. 40

As reported by The Newark Post, "Work is set to begin on a two-year project to widen part of U.S. 40 in Bear and install a roundabout on Salem Church Road."

Newark City Council accepts $65K grant to enhance Folk Park

As reported by TownSquareLive, "The City of Newark has been awarded a grant of up to $65,000 from The Wills Group through its Reimagining Outdoor Spaces 2025 initiative. The funding, which was formally accepted by Newark City Council, will support a series of enhancements at Folk Park, located near South College Avenue."

As reported by Bloomberg, "If it seems like forward visibility has gotten worse, you’re right: Since the 1990s, cars and trucks have grown bigger A-pillars that can create dangerous blind spots."
