Florida Bicycle Month Celebration
The TPA celebrated Florida Bicycle Month with a proclamation at the March board meeting and a group bicycle ride in downtown West Palm Beach. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ride and to Brightline and the City of West Palm Beach for providing BrightBikes and hosting a Bike to Work Week end of ride celebration!
 
The TPA also held webinars on Bicycle Safety, Building Bicycling Cities, and Bikonomics. The TPA congratulates local municipalities and partner agencies for celebrating Florida Bicycle Month with local proclamations and events to promote bicycling and bicycle safety. Delray Beach Event & Ride
March 26 - The City of Delray Beach requests the input and participation of residents and visitors for the Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan.

Palm Beach TPA & Miami-Dade TPO Peer Exchange
The Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) hosted the Palm Beach TPA on Friday, March 18 for a peer exchange in Miami-Dade County to learn about their transportation plans and partnerships to advance enhanced transit, transit-oriented development, and mobility options. Participants visited Brightline’s MiamiCentral Station, Brickell City Centre, The Underline, and rode the Metromover and MetroRail. They also heard from the Miami-Dade TPO, Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works, FDOT District 6, Citizen's Independent Transportation Trust, and Brightline. Thank you to the Miami-Dade TPO and their partners for arranging such an informative visit. We look forward to continuing the conversation and collaboration!

New BrightBike Yellow Bikes
BrightBike Now Available in West Palm Beach
Congratulations to Brightline and the City of West Palm Beach on the launch of their new BrightBike bike share program! There are now 13 bike share stations located throughout downtown with bicycles available to rent, encouraging active transportation and providing more mobility options. Four additional bike share stations will open over the coming month. Find BrightBike station locations and learn more on their website.
DEPUTY SHERIFF DONTA MANUEL & DEPUTY SHERIFF JONATHAN WALLACE HIGHWAY
Florida Senate Bill 160
 The portion of S.R. 715/Bacom Point Road between W. Morgan Road and S.W. 14th Street in Palm Beach County is designated as “Deputy Sheriff Donta Manuel and Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Wallace Highway” to honor the fallen heroes. Palm Beach TPA Board Member and County Commissioner Melissa McKinlay played a pivotal role in this legislation, working with Sen. Harrell, Rep. Skidmore and Sen. Polsky to help get it through Legislature. Thank you, Commissioner McKinlay!

Walk Bike Audit in Limestone Creek, Jupiter
The TPA, Healthier Jupiter, Jupiter Police Department, and local residents conducted a Walk Bike Audit in the Limestone Creek Community in Jupiter to identify pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements. Residents shared insight into existing conditions and community habits of pedestrians and cyclists. The TPA will work with local partners to share the findings and determine what improvements can be made.
Mobility & Economic Development Panel
Join the TPA and local industry leaders for a panel event on mobility and economic development. This panel will provide an overview of economic development trends in Palm Beach County and discuss the role of mobility in continuing to build thriving communities that are safe, efficient and connected for transportation users of all ages, abilities and travel modes.

Speakers will discuss ways infrastructure can reconnect people across these divisions.
