The Palm Beach TPA celebrated Mobility Week with a Governing Board proclamation on October 31 to emphasize the importance of sustainable transportation options. TPA staff also participated in the Ride, Roll, Stroll Challenge, earning second place among small organizations for logging the most alternative transportation options to driving. TPA Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program
The TPA hosted its annual Funding Program Workshop focusing on the Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program, which provides funding for non-motorized infrastructure projects. In partnership with FDOT, this program allocates approximately $5.1M annually to eligible entities. The TA Program application window is now open through February 14, 2025. Belle Glade Walk Audit Update | The Palm Beach TPA and the City of Belle Glade partnered to complete a Road Safety Audit on Historic Avenue A this week. City staff, led by Mayor Wilson, walked Belle Glade's Main Street and observed sidewalks, roadways, lighting, and drainage conditions for improvement. The street is lined with several local businesses, including restaurants, shops, and offices, and the city aims to help revitalize this area to create a more attractive business environment and a safer place to walk, bicycle, and take transit. Learn more about the TPA’s Walk Bike Audits at PalmBeachTPA.org/Audit. | The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims will take place on November 17 to honor those who have lost their lives or been affected by roadway crashes. Communities around the world will gather to advocate for measures such as redesigning dangerous roads, reducing speed limits, and improving vehicle design. The day will also urge governments and safety organizations to take immediate action to address the global public health crisis of road-related deaths and injuries. |

The Bicycle Friendly America (BFA) program provides communities, businesses, and universities with assistance in building more bicycle-friendly places.
