The development of the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), known as Vision 2050, is underway! Public input during this process will help shape the future of transportation in Palm Beach County over the next 25 years. Ride, Roll, Stroll Challenge Winners



The TPA secured the #1 spot as the Top “Small” Organization in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)'s Ride, Roll, Stroll challenge! FDOT celebrated its 8th annual Mobility Week by encouraged transit usage, bicycling, walking, and carpool trips. 17,934 total trips were recorded, including the TPA's impressive 2,704 reduced miles and 2,344 reduced CO2 pounds.

The TPA's Executive Director, Valerie Neilson, celebrates her ninth anniversary with the agency in January.

Funding & Grant Opportunities

2024 Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grants are funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to support innovative and promising projects, programs, and research to improve overall roadway safety, address disparities in mobility safety and access, and achieve the mission of zero traffic fatalities. Applications are due January 14.


2024 Community Spark Grants are $1,500 mini-grants, funded by The League of American Bicyclists', available to local grassroots changemakers and organizations working to improve their communities through safer, easier, and more accessible bicycling. 15 grants will be awarded in 2024. Applications are due February 1.


TPA Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program helps fund connected infrastructure for non-motorized users. This federal program is an annual competitive application process where projects are submitted to the TPA and then ranked and prioritized for funding of approximately $5.1M annually. Schedule your required pre-application meeting now, both in-person and virtual options are available. Applications are due February 16, 2024.


Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) is a popular discretionary grant program that helps communities and sponsors at the state and local levels, including municipalities, Tribal governments, counties, and others complete critical freight and passenger transportation infrastructure projects. Applications are due February 28, 2024.


The Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program is a new competitive grant program created by the Federal Highway Administration that will fund projects to provide safe and connected active transportation facilities that integrate with transit services.

FHWA’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) website serves as a one-stop shop for FHWA’s implementation of the law, including information on funding, assistance, education, and guidance.


U.S. DOT’s Equity website provides plans and resources for delivering a more equitable transportation system.


DOT Navigator helps communities understand the best ways to apply for grants and plan for and deliver transformative infrastructure projects and services.


U.S. DOT Equitable Transportation Community (ETC) Explorer is an interactive web application that uses 2020 Census Tracts and data to explore the cumulative burden communities experience as a result of underinvestment in transportation.


U.S. DOT Intersection Safety Challenge is transforming intersection safety through the development of innovative intersection safety systems that identify, predict, and mitigate unsafe conditions involving vehicles and vulnerable road users.


Safe Mobility Coalition Resources: Whether you are an older adult, family member caregiver, aging service provider, or safety advocate, you will find helpful educational materials and information to help improve the safety, access, and mobility of Florida's aging road users.


Electric Bicycle (E-Bike) Resources: The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is advancing research on e-bikes to better understand trends and impacts, and how jurisdictions around the country are managing them.


E-Scooter Safety Toolbox: A new resource guide, informed by and developed as part of a Behavioral Traffic Safety Cooperative Research Project, that offers concise, evidence-based recommendations to help state and local agencies deliver e-scooter safety programs.


Florida Statewide Transit Survey: The marketing firm BowStern has created a survey for anyone in Florida to complete; both riders and non-riders.


Target Zero Resources: Target Zero was established in the Strategic Highway Safety Plan to provide a framework for how Florida’s communities work to achieve the national vision of zero fatalities and serious injuries.


Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices: On December 19, a final rule adopting the 11th Edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for Streets and Highways was published in the Federal Register, which includes a number of updates to improve safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and all road users.
