Backplates Installed Along Indiantown Road
FDOT is currently installing backplates to signal heads along Indiantown Road in the Town of Jupiter. Town Councilor and TPA Board Member Jim Kuretski made this request to the Town and FDOT after hearing the TPA’s first Quarterly Ped/Bike Fatal Crash Analysis. This report focused on a fatal bicycle crash on Indiantown Road in March 2021, in which police reported sun glare may have been a factor. These backplates are intended to reduce sun glare for drivers and increase safety along the corridor.
