 AN EXPERT MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING FIRM
Girls Leadership And Mentoring (GLAM) Workshop
Transtech Team Members Melissa Demirci, Jocelyn Avila, and Karen Vigil, who were part of the speaker panel, having fun at the workshop.
On March 23 rd , the Transtech team volunteered their Saturday to be part of an incredibly impactful and inspiring panel of women at the 6th Annual G irls L eadership A nd M entoring (GLAM) Workshop . Hosted by Magnolia Science Academy, the workshop included young women between the ages of 10 and 17. The purpose of the workshop is to empower young women in the community to advocate for themselves and others while making positive life choices so they can become the leaders we all know they can be! Our team members shared their experience about being first generation college graduates, first generation Latina Americans, and balancing the cultural differences in today's world. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to be able to share our personal stories about how we were able to overcome obstacles on our journey to success.
Rialto High School 'Lady Knights' Girls Varsity Softball Team
Transtech Engineers continues to support young men and women in their pursuit of excellence bridging education, philanthropy, the arts through athletic programs throughout Southern California and beyond. We have chosen to highlight the Rialto High School ‘Lady Knights’ Girls Varsity Softball Team in recognition of their commitment to excellence both on and off the softball field. The ‘Lady Knights’ are a true example of what student-athletes should strive to become. Coached and mentored by Coach (Joe) Baca, the ‘Lady Knights’ are headed for another outstanding season. Coach Joe is a teacher at Rialto High School and is proud of the success his players have had under his leadership, including winning league championships in 2013 and 2015. Go ‘Lady Knights’!

Who are The Faces Behind Transtech?
In every newsletter we love to introduce you to some of our team members so you can get to know the hardworking faces of the Transtech team. We pride ourselves in always being a team and working together on projects. Teamwork is what makes us Transtech. This quarter we introduce you to four team members in different departments from Public Works and City Engineering to our Building and Safety Departments.
Ahmad Ansari  is a Principal at Transtech and focuses on our Public Works, Construction Management, and Municipal Engineering Services. He has 32 years of solid municipal service background at several cities throughout Southern California as both Public Works Director and City Engineer. Very recently, he also served as an Interim City Manager which further broadened his expertise in serving the public. Ahmad is a big time USC Fan (Go Trojans!) with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Architecture from the historic university. He also has a hidden talent of amazing artistic skills and has created some incredible portraits, caricatures, and oil paintings! He lives with his wife in Coto de Caza, Orange County. They are proud parents of two sons, one a USC Law School grad working as a Lawyer and the other son attending Dental School.
Karen Vigil is an Associate Engineer at Transtech. She is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona’s Civil Engineering Department and has her EIT certification. She also just recently began her master’s degree program in Transportation Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. Karen works closely with various Public Works Departments in project management, attending and presenting at traffic commissions and grant writing. Karen loves to travel and this past summer attended the World Cup in Russia! In fact, since starting at Transtech, Karen has visited several destinations including Ireland, Nicaragua, Spain, Germany, Amsterdam, Iceland, Austria, Canada, Miami, New York, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, and Cabo San Lucas – we love hearing about her travels! Karen also has an identical twin sister, who frequently joins her on her travels!
Dennis Tarango is a Principal Building Official with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He manages our Buildings Division Operations across our client agencies. He has been instrumental in facilitating and structuring the department allowing our Building Division Operations to be streamlined so we can provide the highest quality customer service to our clients. He is part of the ICC Sustainability Membership Council Government Committee and is active in CALBO. Something not widely known about Dennis is that he played for Fresno State’s Football Team (Go Bulldogs!), a Division 1 School. You can find him now residing in Chino Hills with his beautiful family, his wife and three children. On weekends they attend competitive cheer competitions across the nation with his youngest daughter.
Bill Dorman is one of our lead Building Officials and Senior Plan Checker with over 30 years in the Building and Safety industry. As part of the Transtech team, he was assigned for one year out of state where Transtech served as the owner representative for the construction of a 14.5-acre, $110 million cultural center educational campus. It comprised of 5 buildings including a cathedral, cultural center and museum, three level sports complex, monastery, and community assembly building. What we love about Bill is his enthusiasm for his community, particularly his volunteer participation in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game for the past 35 years. He is a family man, and lives with his lovely wife and enjoys his weekends attending club soccer and Little League Baseball games with 4 of his 12 grandchildren! Bill also enjoys attending the theater, especially Broadway musicals, with his youngest daughter!
